Students will build self-confidence and learn how to become dynamic communicators by exploring various dramatic techniques. Tableau, mime, voice and sound, movement and mask making will be incorporated into performances. In senior classes students will interpret and present works, study theatre history and learn about the theatre business.

Want to learn how to be more confident—a more creative thinker? Want to know how to get people to listen when you speak? Then this course is for you. You will learn how to communicate your ideas clearly and dynamically through exercises in creative problem solving, group dynamics and presentation. Workshops include leadership, teamwork, public speaking, mime, movement, improvisation, puppetry and acting. These skills transfer to all subject areas.

Students will build self confidence and learn how to become dynamic communicators by exploring various dramatic techniques. Performance pieces will include improvisation, public speaking, acting scenes, a mask play, and a fairy tale production.

Students will futher their exploration of the dramatic arts form through a variety of dynamic experiences including acting workshops, dance drama, blacklight theatre, social theatre, monologue and improvisation. Students will interpret and present works, create and analyze pieces and develop solid communication skills useful in a variety of careers.

A combination of acting and theatre skills and theory, this course requires students to take a more academic approach to acting and the history and business of theatre.Students will discover the origins of Western Drama and sample plays from Medeival Times to the Post Modern Era. Students will also take a look at, create and present a variety of dramatic works. Students will also study various approaches to acting throughout the ages and participate in workshops on technical theatre. The various careers available in the industry will be investigated also.
