Is this scholarship right for me?
This scholarship is intender to provide financial assistance to Fist Nations status, non-status, Inuit and Métis who have chosen to pursue post secondary studies in health sciences, medicine, nursing, dentistry, biology, chemistry, physiotherapy, pharmacy,clinical psychology, laboratory research and technology, and any other health field for which hard sciences are required.
Post-secondary programs must be at least two years in length, at recognised Canadian technical CEGEP’s colleges and universities. Certificate or diploma programs, undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and one-year upgrading programs are eligible. Studies outside Canada will be considered if the student is pursuing studies at a graduate level. Candidates will be considered based on financial need, academic merit, faculty assessment, commitment and dedication to their proposed field, and a potential for success.
Requirements:
Applicants are required to submit the following:
A completes application form
Proof of aboriginal ancestry
Proof of enrolment, or acceptance in their program or internship
Most recent semester transcript
Two current letters of support of your application from faculty or other professionals who are familiar with their work
A resume or CV and a recent photo of themselves
A letter of personal introduction to the jury
An essay on aboriginal health issues
