PROSPECTS

 Welcome to Turner Fenton

In addition to the courses offered, students find a vital, active school community. Opportunities abound -- teams, clubs and volunteer experience enrich students' time at Turner Fenton Campus.

Involved students do better at school

Students who are committed to the school community are more likely to value their school experience and be able to balance areas of success and enjoyment with areas that might be more demanding at times. Teams and clubs offer structured, supervised opportunities for students to gain knowledge, skills and values.

Learn to be the best you can be

Take the opportunity to know yourself. Work to make our community your own. The development of self-concept and interpersonal skills is enhanced by participating in out-of-class activities. As we learn to feel more comfortable dealing with others in many ways, academically, co-operatively, and socially, we are on the way to becoming valuable, contributing adults.

Well-rounded students make better employees

Obtaining a job isn’t the only goal in life, but employers talk more and more about the important factors that make up a successful job candidate: the ability to work with others as part of a team, learning problem-solving skills, flexibility and a genuine sense of commitment to a project. Experiences from secondary school can provide a résumé full of achievements that employers recognize and value.

The school community needs you

Each individual has a place here. Areas of interest are varied, exciting, and ever changing. A healthy sense of self-esteem and self-worth comes from knowing the we, as individuals, contribute to the good of our community. Students and staff sponsors form new groups every year to raise money, to research, to educate, to experiment, to celebrate, to challenge, to practice, to promote, to compete, to improve, to have fun. The success of these programs depends on an honest commitment from students -- students like you!
