The expectations of this course will be met through the study of web design including digital photography, animation, scanning and digital video/audio production.

This course integrates three of the arts (dramatic arts, music, and visual arts) and examines the similarities and differences among these subjects. Students will learn specialized arts vocabulary while investigating traditional concepts, stylistic elements, and principles unique to the various arts, as well as applications of new technologies.

This course emphasizes the active exploration of dramatic forms and techniques, using material from a wide range of authors, genres, and cultures. This course emphasizes the performance of music at a level that strikes a balance between challenge and skill and is aimed at developing technique, sensitivity, and imagination. Students will participate in creative activities that teach them to listen with understanding. They will also learn correct musical terminology and its appropriate use.

The expectations of this course will be met through the study of web site design (for students who took ALC 100), video/audio production as well as traditional media techniques such as photography, and continues studies started in ALC 100.

This course will develop students' artistic knowledge and skills by introducing them to current media arts technologies and processes. Student learning will include the analysis, appreciation, and production of media art, using a variety of traditional techniques (e.g., photography, film, photocopy art, video, analog sound recording) and emergent technologies (e.g., computer, digital camera, scanner, multimedia, animation).

Students will perform technical exercises and appropriate repertoire, complete detailed creative activities, and analyze and evaluate live and recorded performances. They will continue to increase their understanding of the elements of music while developing their technical and imaginative abilities.

IB Visual Art is offered to IB students and to Turner Fenton visual art students who have ability, interest and considerable background in visual art, and would like to undertake this challenging academic course. This course is quite different from any other visual art course at Turner Fenton and non-1B students must see Ms. Spicer for important details. Students will earn two Art credits as well as an IB certificate. There is a fee for the course and students will be required to provide some of their own supplies.
