Scholarships, Awards & Financial Assistance

As the cost of tuition increases, scholarships and awards are becoming increasing important to students. This site provides a partial list of the many scholarships available. This list is a starting point. A good strategy would be to ask your parents whether their workplaces, clubs or other organizations to which they belong offer some form of financial assistance. The Scholarship Bulletin Board available in the North Hall Guidance office holds the most recent information concerning numerous scholarships. In addition, one should also consult the calendars and other materials available from the individual universities. The Financial Aid at Canadian Universities section of the popular Universities issue of Macleans can also supply additional information.

Don't forget the Internet as an excellent source of information regarding scholarships. For example, ca.yahoo.com has a detailed Financial Aid section with numerous links to relevant sites arranged by sub categories. Another great Internet resource is StudentAwards.com which has a comprehensive database consisting of information concerning thousand of Canadian scholarships, grants and fellowships for all levels of post-secondary education. This website is a free resource and allows you to match a student profile with financial awards that you are eligible for. It's an excellent way to get started on the road to university or college. Another site with Canadian information regarding scholarships is OUSA . .

See the OUAC's Fall edition of INFO for a listing of university scholarships.
