G & CE Courses
The Guidance & Career Education program offers credit courses at each grade level. The
Learning Strategies courses at grades 9 and 10 assist students become "master students". The courses develop the skills required for students to become effective, independent learners and to get the most out of all their courses. The compulsory Career Studies course (.5 credits) in grade 10 provides an excellent introduction to the career exploration and planning process which is built upon in each subsequent year. Senior students who are uncertain about their post-secondary plans are encouraged to continue the planning process by taking Designing Your Future: Career Exploration and Planning. Finally the Co-operative Education
courses provide students with wonderful opportunities to further explore educational and occupational options, enhance their skills and apply their learning in real world contexts.
