Having successfully delivered their prototype, your software company has a new client: MathBooks Inc. This company is world reknowed for their innovative math textbooks. They need you to develop a few new diagrams for their lastest series - Math Rules. This series hopes to follow in the foot steps of their New Your Times Bestsellers: Cooking with Pi and Mean Algorithms.

There are 3 diagrams that they need:

A diagram that shows that if you take any quadrilateral, find the mid point of each side and join the midpoints, you get a parallelogram.
A diagram that shows that if a cube is cut in half on an angle, such that 6 of its side are cut through the midpoint, it produces a cross section that is a regular hexagon.
A diagram that show the how the Fibonacci sequence can be tiled. If possible, they would also like to show how a spiral can be drawn through each tile. (Fibonacci sequence: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, ...)

Extra Features

Spiral drawn through Fibonacci tiles. See the website for help on this (arcs in unit 2).
Variables at the top of each program which controll the location of the points. Perhaps user input of points using option panes. See the website for help on this. (unit 2, "simple input")
Nice colours. Maybe a fill that is more than one colour. Maybe thicker lines. See the website for help on this. (various filling techniques at the end of unit 2).
Important points labelled on the screen using drawString. Things like parallel lines and perpendiculars might be marked on the diagrams.
Maybe the diagrams would have a variable that allowed them to be drawn in different scales. If you changed the variable, the diagram would be drawn 1/2 times, 2 times or 3 times larger.
You can come up with your own extra features!

Design Phase

Draw the diagrams that you need to draw to scale (possibly in paint or on paper).
Determine the co-ordinates that you will need. Write (or type) them.
The maximum screen size is 600 x 800 pixels. All diagrams should appear on the same page.
Describe which extra features you will try and how you will do them. (Look on our website for some hints and code examples).
A paper copy of this phase is required.
